Active Lambeth

Lambeth Council — Web Build + Subscription Marketing

Active Lambeth

Overview

Active Lambeth took ownership of 8 leisure centres in South London from an external provider. As a public sector council project, the site needed to be built at pace while managing 10+ content contributors and multiple stakeholders requiring sign-off at each stage. They needed a new website from scratch and, post-launch, ongoing digital marketing to drive membership subscriptions.

My Role

This project is the clearest example of what I do differently. I started as the development lead — managing the team that built the site — and after launch, I transitioned to full account ownership. I now manage the entire client relationship, including the website, social media, digital advertising, and subscription marketing campaigns.

What I Delivered

A 175-page WordPress website designed and built in 16 weeks, launched 5 days ahead of the original schedule to allow the team to upload content before the gyms opened. The site achieved an A+++ accessibility rating and included clear training for the Lambeth team to manage WordPress going forward.

Post-launch, I took over the account and built out a full-funnel subscription marketing programme across Meta Ads, Google Ads, and email.

From the initial consultation, the team took the time to listen to our needs and understand the vision we had for our website. They provided valuable insights and recommendations, which helped us refine our ideas and create a more focused and effective website. The end result is a website that truly captures the essence of Active Lambeth and effectively communicates our brand message.
