Blakademik — Development Lead + Web Build

Overview

Blakademik is an online show hosted by Jordan Jarrett-Bryan that gives intelligent and engaging Black individuals a space to debate current affairs. Various topics are discussed each week with experiences, expertise and opinions exchanged in a conscious, honest, and progressive way. Drew+Rose was asked to deliver brand positioning, visual identity, print design, website design, a WordPress website, marketing, illustration, social content, and digital support.

My Role

I was the lead developer, managing a team of 3 other developers to deliver the site. I worked directly with the project manager and design team to keep the build on track, and took a lead role in speaking to the client during the process to answer questions and make them feel comfortable throughout.

What I Delivered

A complete brand identity and WordPress website. It was essential that the brand communicated to a vast audience passionate about cultural and current affairs, so Blakademik was developed in a way that the mark extended across all collateral from the website to social media posts.

The vibrant, bold colours have been integral to the growth of the visual language, drawing a thread of recognition through all elements and illustrations.
